Passing Storm on Saskatchewan Prairie

Maureen Shaughnessy

This is an altered image of this original photo. I used conte crayon, pastels and charcoal to create the old-world feeling I was looking for.

I wanted to give the original bright sunny landscape some somber tones, the feeling of time passing with a storm, the way it seems more like a memory or dream than the other, more vibrant and clear photo. I also like this one for its' quality of encroaching darkness (or receding darkness, depending on how you see it ...)
