Candles

Monika Fahrnberger & Manfred Novak

At the end of the service all members of the congregation take a burning candle and move out to take a common march in silence and commemoration; the march passes some Inner City places and leads to the Jewish Memorial at Judenplatz which has been set up for the 65,000 assassinated (1939-1945) Austrian Jews.

At the memorial we usually sing another mourning song, place out candles as offerings and stay for some while in silent prayer before everyone would again return to his/her home.
