Gaudi on the Helsinki skyline???

There are some buildings in Helsinki that stop you dead in your tracks. You have to wonder why the hell they were built, and what purpose do certain structures perform.

Take this spire whacked onto the side of this building. The turret has lots of intricate designs as though somebody had been to Barcelona and fallen in love with Gaudi, and just look at those Rennie macintosh windows and that ochre with brown edging... and is that a stain-glass world in blue and gold?

I loved it even though it made no sense.
