Concert: Djordje BalaĊĦevi?

Jumpin' Jack

IMHO the best ballad / chanson / folk singer and poet in the whole Balkans (and wider). Sort of semi-retired (in his own words), but still performs each year at the Lent festival in his new hometown.

Formerly from Novi Sad, Vojvodina (autonomous province in Serbia), he moved to Maribor, Slovenia, during the war in ex-Yugoslavia.

AFAIK the infamous Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) tried to mobilize him and send into the war against Croats or Bosnian Muslims. When he refused, he was facing a trial for treason and had to leave Serbia with the whole family.

I heard that some years after the war, he returned to his home country and is now moving between the two quite often.

The concert was at night and I was sitting quite far away, so I had to use zoom and long exposure times (1/15 to 1/6 second). Hence most shots were just blur. Still, I landed a few sharp ones.
