Ganges Dawn

Waiting for the sun to appear having walked down to the Ganges through the streets of Veranasi. The waters move slowly near the shore and appear in this minimal light to have the consistency of treacle.

This shot was taken from the boat we had boarded and because of the movement I was forced to use a shutter speed of 1/200th - the shots I took using a lower shutter speed were far too blurred.

I did notice the central point of light at the time, but to be honest did not realise what a focal point it would actually be in the image.
