old soul

Nancy Shepard Metzger Waldman

the elephant is from a collection of 'whatnots' that my sister and I had as children. it's very old. see pencil marks that were added by one of us...maybe we thought he wasn't grey enough?

the little wooden box was painted by suzesque, my sister, in the *style* of the late 60's (it says NANC on the top) and given to me along with a pair of wooden, sphereical earrings painted in a similar fashion. they are probably still inside the box which was always used for earrings but which I haven't looked in in several years......

the handkerchief that the box is sitting on is Japanese... a gift from my niece, Emily, who lived in Japan a couple of years ago.
