Japanese still life 2

Liz West

My father played go, a Japanese game, in tournaments, and we belonged to a Japanese club in New York. At the time, I think we were the only non-Japanese family there, but no one seemed to care. He also had a Japanese go tutor who came to the house every Thursday. I grew up with very warm feelings towards the Japanese and towards Japanese culture. I visited the country many years ago and loved it. I brought back a few things and also have some things from my family's home. So it seemed appropriate to create a Japanese still life for the Utata project.
