Still Cans

But what defines a can? An opening? or the cylinder shape? Surely not the handles present here? And no lids these can have, so are they really cans? Or pretenders to the life of cans? Not even filled but a life of waiting to be filled only to be emptied again.
Maybe this is what happens to bad cans?
