standing at the forks
jamelah e.
Here's a story for you. Albion, the town where I live, is situated right on the spot where the Kalamazoo River forks. In fact, when it was founded in 1835, it was called, uh, The Forks. It's a swell name, and all, but I'm pretty glad they changed it. Every year, however, the town has a thing called Festival of the Forks. People always make jokes about silverware, har har, but it's because of the river. Here I am standing at the exact spot where the river forks -- one part goes east and the other goes west. Fascinating, no?
