Esso III

David Elliott

This photo was taken mere seconds before I lost the incredible slanting light of the sun on the horizon. As I left work last Thursday I was walking up a street away from the harbour when I looked over my shoulder and saw the incredible play of light in this photo. I ran pell mell down the street to the harbour's edge gathering strange looks from people on the way. I then captured a series of photographs as the sun sunk ever lower, second by second. To top it off, storm clouds were moving in from the north east giving this ominous and dramatic black backdrop to everything bathed in the light of the setting sun.'Esso III' On Black

This is the signature photo from my Dark Side set of photos where the dominant tone is black or near black. If you liked this one, please check out the rest.
