My crepe myrtle doesn't do this.

This one is clearly a different variety than I have. Mine looks like a heap of sticks right now (mid-December). I think this one might be a Natchez, from what I've read online. It has large leaves and huge flower clumps.

This really did look brilliant today. I hope I didn't oversaturate in an attempt to replicate how it really looked. My camera just couldn't handle perfectly the high light situation, even with this sun at my back.
