Calendar 1923

Taken in the pub at Blackbrook after walking over Holmwood Common in Surrey. We stopped for a late lunchtime beer and peanuts.

The picture in the frame is a calendar from 1923 produced by a business in the village of Ockley. It's a beautiful picture of an elderly couple reading the paper together.

It made us wonder is a modern company would ever use an image of two older people in this way in a calendar to promote their company. Can you image the PR guys doing their pitch? Somehow I don't think so.
