Virtual Houseguests
Linus Gelber

Of course the travel arrangements got all scampered up - welcome to my world - but at last my virtual Utata guests have arrived for a bit of shared summer vacation. I've got two Canadians (three if you count Sam) and a Californian to take around this week. We went out to get acquainted over coffee - the rain was icumen in, as they say, so we ducked into the nearby Barnes & Noble Starbucks.
I wasn't sure we'd all fit at one of the small window tables, but we managed all right.
Nudie head was tired after her cross-country haul from Sacramento - I thought a Frappuccino would perk her up, but she declined, and so we let her nod some. You'd think Whyswomen would be tuckered after jetting in from Winnipeg, but just sitting next to the coffee was enough to keep her wide-eyed. Ms Oddgers felt a little weird about bringing Sam along all the way from Ottawa, but we hit it off right away.
Crammed in at the small table like this I guess we attracted a fair amount of attention, but New York is reliable in the end: no one said anything, and they just went back to their reading.
