A part of my submission to this summer's Utata Big Project, "Homage". The subject of this homage being Brassai.

One of my favourite Brassai photos is 'Open Gutter' from his 1933 book 'Paris du Nuit', a photo I had to homage. The trouble is that as well as failing to provide chic women scurrying around under umbrellas, men wearing trilbies, night workers, streetwalkers and other visual staples of mid-20th century Parisien life, Morecambe also lacks sinuous open rain gutters snaking along an avenue. So I was forced to improvise and go for a kind of, sort of -ish type thing.
