These are George Montgomery’s “undarkened eyes – like glimpses of transparent skies”. You don’t see the future in a child’s eyes, nor even the past. They are windows into the guileless here and now, immediate and present. Here and now, these eyes are trusting and open, generous and willing, the reflections clear and true. Oh, but that we could keep them that way.
