There are no bad times to go fishing. There’s no weather inappropriate for it, no day too holy for it, no season too hot or cold for it. There may be conditions that improve the odds of catching fish…but fishing isn’t just about the catch.
Fishing is about the lazy bobbing of the unbitten bait as well as the visceral thrill of hooking a fighter. It’s about the contemplative pleasures of idle solitude as well as having fun with friends and family. It’s about learning through observation as well as tribal wisdom passed down from parent to child generation after generation.
It’s about a man and a boy sharing a moment at the end of the day, and the memories that will abide long after that day has ended.
