June

It’s as close as most humans ever get to being weightless. Adrift, eyes closed, floating in warm and welcoming water. It takes us back to our origins, buoyant as babies suspended in an amniotic sac. It takes us into the future where we become space children suspended in some off-world habitat. With our ears underwater, sounds are muffled and distant, and we are insulated as if in the womb.

The trick to floating, of course, is letting go. Relaxing, letting the tension slip away. Allowing the water to hold you as a parent holds a child. Finding peace. Finding and embracing peace, even if only for a while.
