Mighty Truck

It’s not just the great DOF, the fabulous colors or the excellent composition. The soft bokeh background, a menagerie of other toys equally bright and cheerful, has a tangible emotion. Like a seashell from which you can hear the sounds of the ocean where it was born, this photograph is infused with the laughter and smiles and curiousity of the child to whom these toys belong.

Though we know it is plastic, that the wheels aren’t powered by internal combustion but rather by a child’s hand and imagination, it does look a little menacing in a cool sort of way from this close, in this perspective, doesn’t it?

“Vroom, vroom.” I can hear it. Can’t you?
