Burps Liberty

And here we are, you and I, two furry creatures, each comfortable with the other, each trusting in the other, each ready to lay down our head and close our eyes. One of us will purr, the other will snore; one set of dreams shall be feral, the other shall be domesticated, but both of us will dream.

You have spent your day engaged in your work, and I in mine. I cannot understand the intricacies and complexities of your daily efforts, no more than you can understand mine. Yet we are each of us satisfied that the other has done the job well and we are content in the knowledge that our rest is well-deserved.

It matters not at all that we do not, cannot, speak the same language. We communicate our needs, our wants, our satisfaction in more fundamental ways. We know when to eat, we know when to work, we know when to nap. And what else is there?
