You Set Me All A-Flutter
Things that make me happy:
The first sunshine after days of rain.
Watching thunderstorms roll across fields miles and miles away.
Dogs shaking water off of their coats.
Grilled cheese sandwiches.
That first swallow of coffee on a lazy Sunday morning.
(Lazy Sunday mornings.)
Wintertime oak trees, their proudly graceful branches silhouetted against the sky like sumi-e.
Silly conversations. Companionable silences. Laughing about nothing, nothing at all.
Dandelions turned into puffball skeletons, inviting wishes.
Wishes. Coins tossed in fountains. Hopes whispered at 11:11.
Seed pods flying across the bluest sky like confetti, like magic, like baby alien fairies.
