Rachael Ashe

blue haired lady

It is a process of light falling onto iridescent grackle-blue hair. It is a process of the sprout becoming the bean. It is a process of dawn becoming day becoming afternoon becoming grackle-blue twilight. It is a process of a smile hidden behind a smile, a smile not of the mouth but of the eyes and the mind, a smile that reveals itself as subtly as the dawn becoming twilight and the sprout becoming bean. It is a process of light falling on a smile hidden behind a smile.

It is absurd to engage in the shadow-play of words when all one needs to do is look at the light falling onto iridescent grackle-blue hair, to look at the light falling on a smile, and to see that in the end it is actually a process of love. Not for oneself or for another, but love of iridescent grackle-blue hair and a smile, and the awareness that the one leads to the other with all the inevitable certitude of the dawn leading to the twilight and the sprout to the bean.
