Gem Trem

Alchemie Musicali

Play for me on your violin a simple tavern song. Play me a song, and I will dance for you a csárdás.

Play a song as simple and filling as fresh-baked bread; play me a song as refreshing as beer and ripe as good cheese. Play me a song, and I will dance a picnic for you. I will dance the bright sun and the cool breeze and the smell of cut grass; I will dance the sound of chuckling water in the brook.

Play me a song as comfortable as laughter, as easy as opening a bottle, a song as sharp as cider. Play for me that song, and I will dance for you a dance as warm as yeast, as cheery as a crackling fire, as relaxed as your hand upon the hand of someone you love.

Take up your violin and play me that song and I will, I promise, dance for you now and forever until your fingers are too old to bend and my knees are as knobby as the faithful limbs of old trees.
