Taking Up Space

There is milky light, a cloud-strewn sky.

She is opening up. She is taking up space.

See the way her hands reach out? She is open to the sky. She captures fresh air in the palms of her hands – her fingertips brush rays of sun as they fall to earth.

She smiles. And behind her, out of sight of her blissfully closed eyes, the sun smiles back. It harnesses the zephyr winds to herd the clouds that stretch out behind her, adding substance to her stance.

She is taking up space. And the space, sensing a woman in control, wisely makes way.
