She stands alone, unseeing, unseen. Oblivious to the shadowy ghosts that stroll behind her, turned away from the grilled-off doorway, sheltering behind her umbrella.

Is she Mary Poppins waiting for the wind to change or a Hitchcock heroine about to meet her fate?

And did those ghosts leave her with a shiver as their old lives seeped by on dead air, or is she the ghost, condemned to an eternal wait for a moment that will never come?
