I think some photographs are like untranslateable letters written by the photographer, knowing the viewer won’t be able to accurately decipher the content, but believing (or maybe just hoping) the right viewers will be able to at least paraphrase it.

This photograph speaks to me. I’m not quite sure why, I’m not quite sure what it says, but I recognize the grammar. The shape and form of the alphabet is familiar to me. And the rhythm and meter of the lines are as unmistakable as my own pulse.
