What Happens to Dim Sum at Night?
This evening street scene offers some satisfying charms:
The contrast of color, with those bright reds and yellows amid the grey.
The warm, inviting light of this lovely little shop. A suggestion of aroma, wafting a story of vegetables and fish and fragrant sauces.
The way the “Don’t Walk” signal seems to raise its lit-up hand, as if to say “Yes, please.”
The thought of a smiling cook and a still-steaming bun, filled with sweet egg custard or barbecued pork, put fresh into my hand — a little bit of comfort at the end of a long, cold day.
