Obviously this must be a human being precariously settled on the pinnacle of a ladder. We cannot see a face or torso, we can only count two limbs, but yes, obviously this must be a human being, because spiders do not wear shorts.

It seems to me, that the ladder along with perhaps the wheel, is the invention which is most likely to encourage rampant show-offishness in our species. Acrophobia the fear of heights is one of the world’s most common phobias and yet for some reason when those who do not experience it use a ladder they so often feel  the need to push to unrealistic heights.

This coming holiday season do not reach ever higher to get that box of decorations down from the attic, or to fix those twinkling lights to the chimney. Emergency rooms will have enough ladder accidents without you. Be like Michael and take a wonderfully composed photograph of the show-off who goes beyond the final rung; and if you really must reach to greater heights, then borrow a longer ladder from the neighbours.
