Unashamedly, in Polaroid week, we’ve picked more instant film. This time it’s an image shot from old Polaroid stock.

The sign that is the subject of this dreamy photo is uncomplicated by focus groups or micro-targetting.

It’s mid-way — you need to eat. Unmistakably from another age.

The old expired film is also from another era. Chemicals that make the image develop are exhausted in places. The colours have shifted and the roller can’t really cope with spreading the sticky old developer. So it’s carved a purple path and left the edges to make it or break it on their own.

It all comes together in this beautiful image that reminds us of another time, another place, when things weren’t necessarily better or worse.

Just no longer of our time, but still very much alive if you know where to look.
