Rotterdam: Museumpark

There are some photos that represent reality,  the camera lens unfailingly picks up every cigarette butt, discarded single-use coffee cup, bad hair days. Life depicted, warts and all.

This is not one of those – this photo is a wonderful distortion – a trompe l’œil.

The eye is deceived, the mind confused. Are they mirrored discs or holes in a reflective wall? The brain knows the truth but the eye is deceived by the glittering mirrored discs that seem to hang from tree branches or float in mid-air.
