last night’s walk in the park

Reality, realism, we can be pretty sure that this is an actual house in a real place. We might walk past, nod, and smile at it, but Jody stops time and plays around with this reality. Now I’m not suggesting that she sneaks on to the properties of unsuspecting American home owners and deposits pink, neon flamingos, behind the blinds in their front windows. Although it gives me such joy to imagine that. She turns her camera on the world and creates a storyboard of narrative images, and somehow it is never pure documentary; this is an epic chronicle, a saga of Jody. Walking the world, putting magic into realism.
