First long tights day, Autumn 2019, Stahlstraße

It’s something different for each of us. That thing — that one thing — that marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall. That thing that sparks the inevitable cascade of autumnal changes.

For Martin, it’s the day he has to wear long tights for his morning run. For me, it’s the day I shift from cold brew coffee in the morning to hot coffee. Soon Martin will need to wear a warmer cap, and I’ll have to start wearing socks and pajama pants. Eventually he’ll need gloves and I’ll add a hoodie and we’ll know it’s winter.

It’s something different for each of us. What marks the beginning of autumn for you?
