Lunar Threesome

I missed Nuit Blanche this year. I was recovering from something yucky; awake enough to hear the kids drift home at 3.30 then at 4.30. Too tired to accept an invitation, too achey to deal with the TTC, too noble to infect the crowds.

Nuit Blanche is the door that slams on summer; before it gets disagreeably cold, before Diwali, Thanksgiving, and Halloween the city is invited to stay up all night and celebrate some art. It is about more than the installations, it is about airing out your winter coat and finding missing gloves. It is about the excitement of seeing familiar locations transformed. It is about redefining adulthood as “not needing to stay out till the sun rise”.

For Jeff it was about modifying a crowded city night and shooting this moon with a solitary figure. Because of how Jeff chose to record it I might possibly forget that this was a year when I missed Nuit Blanche.
