Flakes

If you were there, it would be the thick flakes of snow swirling in the twilight clouding your vision, sticking to your eyelashes and getting in your eyes.  That is what you notice and it might be all you could see.

But the camera reveals something else, among the speckled pattern of snowfall. The repeating pattern of streetlights, the block paved walkway. The ghostly greylit sky, highlighting the footpath but hiding the figure receding into the distance.
