life as I know it

The light…sweet as Tupelo honey. A slow, gradual sweep up a small hill dedicated to the past. A white rail fence dividing this from that–though not really, not really, because how can you really divide anything that’s ever been connected?

This is how the world works. A visit connects the past to the present and the future. A hug, a smile, hello goodbye be safe, a wave and a tear, and there it is. This is where we are, this is what we do, this is how the world works.

But the light that day will never fade, will never change, will always be sweet as Tupelo honey.
