Mindscape: Morning Narcissus

Be honest, your body does not fit together as smoothly as once it did. You were never a graceful child; mother would tense up  anytime you walked through the glassware aisles of a department store. Then the less said about teen growth spurts the better. But slowly you came to understand how elbows related to torso and where to put your feet. There was a sweet spot in your late twenties when everything worked effortlessly. It did not last. Nobody warned you that your cost free warrantee was up when you turned thirty-five and you would need to work out to maintain something close to fitness. Do not beat yourself up. Allow yourself to celebrate that you too are one part of this remarkable species, if that doesn’t do it for you then be thankful that your mind still works.
