still life in the style of josef sudek

View large. This feels more inspired by Sudek than an imitation of his work. He was able to control the light better than I could. If you look, for example, at the shadows of the egg and bread in this photograph you can see that the shadows were well enough defined that he could get a clear "line of light" between the two. I'm not sure what he was using as a light source but I was using light through a pair of windows (both sides of a corner). It's a bit tempting to say that such details are incidental but I don't think they are. It's these "little things" that define Sudek's art.
