This comic of Lynda Barry's is called 100 demons. In it she outlines the demons she has had to conquer and overcome through the years, from her worst boyfriend...who gave her lice, to dancing, to smells; the smells of her home life growing up in a trailer park in Seattle with a Phillipino grandma who smelled like frying fish and men's after shave...which smelled like home to her and the girl next door who smelled like bleach and pine sol and complained that her house smelled...she gets at the painful truth and beauty of an awkward existence in a way that's effortless and universal.
