cycling cap

This cycling cap will be 37 years old in July. I bought it from a vendor during RAGBRAI IX in 1981. It's useless as a cap -- the elastic in the band is no longer elastic. Useless as a cap, but still useful for Iron Photographer 259, which includes "something which has outlived its usefulness" as an element.

However, the cap isn't the useless element. The useless element is the silk necktie. I haven't had to wear a tie in a couple of decades.
