as ornate as a peacock

barbara ender

for iron photographer 282 as an alternative in case a scarf is not considered to be clothing.
Since I sent my mother's 1946 fake astrakhan padded-shoulder jacket to a flea market, my oldest thing is my swimsuit which I've been wearing on the rare occasions I go to the swimming pool since the late 1970s. It is called Nasty, a name that doesn't surprise me, living in a country that markets an aftershave called Gammon and a tonic water called Gents.
The swimsuit is grey and very plain, the ornate thing is a box of notelets in peacock design with a flower of fake jewels on the lid. My bed cover is also quite ornate, gold elephant brocade from Thailand.
