a fortunate capacity for chicanery
Greg Fallis

Years ago when I was a private investigator specializing in criminal defense, a lawyer watched me talk my way into an arson scene while the police were still cordoning it off. Afterwards, when I emerged with a couple rolls of crime scene photos, he said "You have a fortunate capacity for chicanery."
I'd never heard anybody say that word out loud before. And I've never heard anybody say it out loud since.
