Reel One

Michael Perkins

For the UTATA group's latest project, a depiction of the "previous" items in one's life: my first movie outfit from the mid-1960's, including a Kodak M50 projector and M12 "Instamatic" camera. This was the dawn of both Super 8 and drop-in film cartridges, and the entire set-up could be had for just under $100. Took me a full summer of double-bag caddying at the local country club, but it was the first major purchase I ever made with my own money, and few things over a lifetime have meant as much to me.
