oncologist's hallway

Liz West

Many people have cancer, but when you or a friend or family member is diagnosed with the illness, you feel as if you're staring down a long, lonesome road. This hallway leads to examination rooms and to the infusion room, where various types of chemotherapy are used to treat and sometimes cure the disease. Since chemo affects each person differently, those entering have no idea what's in store for them. The road they travel is theirs alone.
I received months of chemotherapy. Each treatment lasted about 8 hours, which is a looooong time. However, I am writing this paragraph 3 1/2 years after taking the picture, so for me, it was worth it.
