At Second Glance

Jeremy Sloan

I saw what looked to be a horsefly sitting on Queen Anne's Lace. After taking several photos of other things, I noticed that it still hadn't moved. Then I looked closer and found that it was dead -- and in the process of being eaten by a large white spider with mottled pink on its abdomen. From this, it would appear to be a crab spider.
