a passion for morels

Hobbits, according to Tolkien (and who would know better than he?) "have a passion for mushrooms, surpassing even the greediest likings of Big People." If that's so, then those little furry-footed buggers must be mad for the shrooms. Because I've just spent the last week trundling about in the spider-ridden woods, getting wet and cold (or wet and sweaty), suffering from scrapes and poked by thorns, in search of morels. And after a week of failure, yesterday I spotted these. And over the course of the next 90 minutes, found 37 of their brethren. And tomorrow, after these have been consumed, I'll be going out again.
