orange balloon

Greg Fallis

After a night of freezing mist, the entire world (or my part of it) was covered with a layer of clear ice. Thoroughly cold and miserable outside, but since this was Utata's 400th Thursday Walk I took it on myself to shuffle outside long enough to shoot a photo. That counts as a walk, honest.

I'd taken the balloon out earlier for an Instagram series I'm working on. In the end, I didn't use the balloon, but I tied it to the deck railing so it wouldn't blow away while I shot the photo I did use. By then, my fingers were too cold to untie the balloon. So I left it outside. It deflated a wee bit.
