These two Moai are probably the most photographed of any on Easter Island. You've probably seen them dozens of times over the years on book covers, travel advertisements, TV programs & so on. What you might not know is that the one on the left was once excavated by Thor Heyerdahl to prove that these Moai on the side of the volcano were more than just heads.
