Stairs

Downstairs was interesting, but foreboding at times. But going upstairs was exciting and full of light. darkness of the rooms downstairs - the occasional chills. the fact that my photojournalist teacher believed the place was haunted. (he is not alone in that) Funny, because this teacher was someone who tended to be grounded in fact and reality. Some friends of mine had pictures from the building - and they were showing me all these "orbs" that were showing up in their photographs. I tried to explain "circles of confusion" and unfocused light. It seems I'm one of the few that doesn't really think there are ghosts there. (Though I did have a nightmare once about ghosts in the OAB.)

There were rooms where there was really scary grafitti - foul and prejudiced - and one room even had ritualistic marks on the wall that were a bit unnerving. I can't remember if I saw those walls in person - I probably did - at the very least I saw them in someone else's photographs - I saw most of the building, and got to know it fairly well, visiting as often as I could, especially once I realized that there might not be a next time. So every time there was a next time, I tried to go.
