The table in my studio is like a beach- flotsam and jetsam of everyday life drift in and out- pebbles, shells, twigs, weeds, fabric, bird’s nests, eggs, old bottles, bits of paper, string, stamps, toys, cake, etc. This series categorizes some of the junk into the 5 elements of Chinese philosophy- earth, wood, metal, water and fire.
