Did you know that the whole thing about how wedding rings are made of gold because it doesn't tarnish (whee symbolism) is baloney?

Fun Fact for the Day:
Gold tarnishes. Silver doesn't.

You think otherwise because sterling silver tarnishes. Sterling silver, however, is mixed with other metals (copper & something) specifically to get something harder and something that tarnishes.

This Fun Fact was actually brought to you by my husband (still weird to say that) who made our wedding rings. We didn't really care about tradition either way, but it's amusing nonetheless.
