Union Station Clock

Ian Blum

Every train station needs a clock, even if it's no longer a train station. Incidentally, my grandfather was a construction worker that helped renovate this place when it was converted to a conference center and he "borrowed" the original Master Clock that was used to keep the trains running on schedule. My grandmother still has it in her apartment to this day.

It was taken during the Doors Open Ottawa event. I didn't get to see everything I wanted, mostly because there was a lot of places open, but also because some spots wouldn't allow photography. I really felt like a tourist in my own town, which is kinda nice since I got to do a lot of touristy things that people tend to miss out on when they live in a place for too long. It was like looking at Ottawa through fresh eyes, plus I got to see the insides of a couple buildings that are usually closed to the public.
